At the sports trade fair OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen/Germany, on June 17-20, 2018, chemical company The Chemours Company, Wilmington, DE/USA, presented its new Teflon EcoElite durable water-repellant (DWR) technology.

Teflon EcoElite repellent is a high performing, renewably sourced finish (60% renewable carbon content) meeting the demanding water repellent performance requirements thought to be met exclusively by fluorinated DWR products. It provide durable water repellent performance that still performs after 30 or more washes meeting the needs of demanding outdoor brands and consumers.

Thanks to its innovative characteristics in terms of sustainability, Teflon EcoElite repellent was chosen as one of the Bio-based products of the year at the Bio-Based World News InnovationAwards for 2018. This award recognizes plant-based products and products derived from plants and other renewable agricultural, marine, and forestry materials and provides an alternative to conventional petroleum derived products.
