Clothing and textile materials can not only be carriers of micro-organisms, but also are good media for the growth of micro-organisms. When microbes grow to high numbers in clothing and textiles, they can cause unwanted odor and trigger allergic reactions.
During the leading trade fair for home and contract textiles, Heimtextil in January 2018 in Frankfurt/Germany, the producer of antimicrobial additives Life Materials Technologies Ltd., Bangkok/Thailand, presented a new natural antimicrobial product as a finishing agent for textiles.
Life Natural is based on renewable plant extracts which are sourced from sustainable raw materials. It can be applied during normal finishing process by pad or exhaust and are lower in costs compared to current silver or silane-quat antimicrobials. Life Natural is durable for multiple washings and continues to protect the textile over the course of its lifetime. It also complies with EPA and EU BPR regulations.
