Reorganizing of trade fair calendar in spring 2021

23.09.2020 The current situation with respect to the corona pandemic and the associated international travel restrictions have caused Messe Frankfurt GmbH, Frankfurt/Germany, to reorganize its trade fair calendar in spring, focusing on new synergies and digital supplements. Up to and including March 2021, no physical trade fairs will be held at the Frankfurt venue.

The international trade fair for home and contract textiles, Heimtextil 2021, has been postponed from the planned dates in January until May 4-7, 2021 and will take place in Frankfurt parallel to the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens Techtextil 2021, and the leading international trade fair for processing textile and flexible materials Texprocess 2021.
As the first digital B2B marketplace for Home & Living, the platform Nextrade offers an order and data-management portal for the entire sector. Since 2019, this service (www.nextrade.market) has been used by clients from the Ambiente, Tendence and Nordstil trade fairs. From 2021 the portal will also be available to clients from the Heimtextil, Christmasworld and Creativeworld in order to extend the physical participation in trade fairs and enable orders to be made year-round.
In China, on the other hand, 13 major trade fairs organized by Messe Frankfurt GmbH at various locations have already been held in recent weeks.
As far as Covid-19 is concerned, exhibition halls are among the safest covered buildings in which people can stay without being exposed to an increased risk of infection. Fresh air can be supplied frequently, and combined with the various individual measures in the hygiene concept it would be possible to hold business meetings. However, against the background of the renewed tightening of official and, above all, internal company travel restrictions, the current pandemic is leading to increasing uncertainty among trade fair customers.
