The process of turning raw materials into finished garments has negative environmental implications that are characterized by high consumption of resources in a long process that generates a large amount of wastes. The ITMA 2019, which takes place in Barcelona/Spain from June 20-26, 2019, aims to provide an integrated platform of eco-friendly solutions with a dedicated recycling, waste reduction, and pollution prevention exhibit sector.

Product sectors include equipment for recycling, equipment for wastewater-treatment, equipment for the separation of solid, fluid and gaseous substances from exhaust air and exhaust water, heat recovery systems, equipment for waste management, other equipment for waste reduction and pollution prevention (for fiber and fabric reclamation lines), and accessories for equipment for recycling, waste reduction and pollution prevention.

The ITMA 2019 also promotes the exchange of knowledge and excellence in sustainability through various sharing and recognition events. The ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award recognizes outstanding industry members and post-graduate students for their contributions.

The event will also host, among others, the Nonwovens Forum, Planet Textiles, the Digital Textile Conference, the Textile Colourant and Chemical Leaders Forum and Speakers Platform which will discuss wastewater management and more.

The fiber and yarn sector is a key component and integral part of the textile and garment production value chain. As buyers prefer to adopt a one-stop sourcing approach, ITMA 2019 will feature innovative fabrics as an organic value-added extension of the fiber and yarn chapter that was launched in 2011.

Space is filling up quickly due to overwhelming interest in exhibiting at ITMA 2019. Interested exhibitors are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible to secure their participation. The closing date for space applications is April 6, 2018.

Eligible research and educational institutions exhibiting at ITMA 2019 can apply for the Research & Innovation (R&I) Grant, which could help participants save up to 50 % of their costs.
