The latest edition of ITMA ASIA + CITME witnessed a strong showing from the textile machinery manufacturers of the German Textile Machinery Association (VDMA), Frankfurt/Germany. In terms of booked square meters, Germany led the foreign exhibitors cohort at the event held on November 19-23, 2023, in Shanghai/China. More than 40 VDMA member companies showcased their latest products at this global platform.
Despite the challenging market dynamics, the turnout and the quality of discussions at the show exceeded the expectations of the VDMA members. Chairman of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association, Dr. Janpeter Horn, noted particular satisfaction at the considerable number of foreign visitors to the show.
Sustainability was at the forefront, with a lot of exhibitors demonstrating solutions for greener textile production. Under the theme of "Smart technologies for green textile production", VDMA members showcased technologies aimed at water, energy, and raw materials preservation.
Dr. Uwe Rondé, CEO of Saurer Intelligent Technology AG, and others represented the upbeat sentiments of vendors. Amidst current low machine utilization in spinning mills, attendees showed interest in latest trends like recycling, automation and digitalization, while contemplating future investments.
