On May 27, 2020, Robert van de Kerkhof has been elected by the members of the European Man-Made Fibers Association (CIRFS), Brussels/Belgium, to take on the role of President.

 
He succeeds Necat Altin, General Manager of Korteks Mensucat San. Tic. A.S., Bursa/Turkey, and Head of Zorlu Holding Textile Group, Istanbul/Turkey, whose mandate has expired but who will remain a member of the Board as past-President.
 
Van Kerkhof has been actively involved in CIRFS work for many years, amongst others in the Board, more recently as its Vice-President. He has a long experience in the man-made fibers industry, and is currently heading the performance of Marketing and Sales, Corporate Sustainability and Supply Chain as the Chief Commercial Officer (COO) of the producer of cellulosic fibers Lenzing AG, Lenzing/Austria.
 
CIRFS is the association for Europe’s € 10.5 billion man-made fibers industry, representing the industry to the European authorities and providing the industry with a wide range of services. Its members cover more than 70% of European man-made fibers output.
