The startup Packtin srl., Reggio Emilia/Italy, converts food waste into new raw materials.

Packtin, founded in 2017, recovers food waste, stabilizes it and extract fibers and active compounds trough green technologies. The new products are used to create natural ingredients for food and biodegradable packaging.
The business model of the company is to create an industrial network, which will enable the creation not only of new technologies and products from food waste, but also the creation of national and international sales channels. Packtin wants to become a reference point for the circular economy in Italy and Europe.
The startup was presented at the 1st Startup-Days of the 58th Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress (Dornbirn GFC) in Dornbirn/Austria from September 11-12, 2019.
