Acquisition of strategic shareholding in ELG Carbon Fibre

The acquisition of 25% of shares in the recycled carbon fiber materials specialist ELG Carbon Fibre Ltd., Coseley/UK, by Mitsubishi Corp., Tokyo/Japan, has been completed, effective April 5, 2019.

Under the agreement, Mitsubishi will use its existing resources to promote the sales and marketing of ELG recycled carbon fiber products and accelerate the global expansion of ELG’s recycling operations. By uniting ELG Haniel’s advanced technology and proficiency in the metals reprocessing industry, ELG’s know-how regarding carbon fiber recycling and Mitsubishi’s global network and broad interface with different industries, the companies can now enhance their global business development and reliable supply of reprocessed carbon fiber.
ELG is the first company in the world to have established stable commercial production of reclaimed carbon fiber, supplying to markets such as the automotive, electronics and wind energy markets.
