The supplier of sewing technology Pfaff Industriesysteme und Maschinen GmbH (Pfaff Industrial), Kaiserslautern/Germany, developed a special version of the Pfaff 8323-41 hot-air welding machine featuring a very narrow cylinder arm and height-adjustable single-column frame for an international customer.
The machine is used to manufacture high-quality over water flight suits i.e. fully welded survival suits that allow aircraft personnel to survive for a longer period of time in the open sea following a crash.
These overalls are rather stiff, but have very tight cuffs on the sleeves and waistbands. The machine set-up allows the reliable and highly sophisticated manufacturing of these top-quality products. Further areas of application are protective and rescue suits made from waterproof breathable membrane laminates.
