On June 5, 2020, the German Federal Minister of Economics, Peter Altmaier, will issue the first funding notice for 2 new meltblown lines to the nonwovens manufacturer Innovatec Microfibre Technology GmbH & Co. KG, Troisdorf/Germany.
One of the declared aims of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi), Berlin/Germany, is to establish a mask industry in Germany and thus minimize the dependence on foreign supply chains.
Innovatec is a leading global producer of meltblown nonwovens, which are required for the production of effective protective masks. The German Federal Ministry of Economics supports the purchase of 2 meltblown lines at Innovatec with a state subsidy of 30%. The investment sum Innovatec is making in the purchase of the 2 lines amounts to more than €11 million.
